Available to researchers, faculty, and students, the Wiley Researcher Academy (WRA) is a self-paced, online programme offering over 60 hours of essential education for graduate students, early career researchers and more experienced researchers. It equips researchers with the knowledge and skills to meet the challenges they face in the publishing process – with any publisher, not just Wiley.

Written and presented by Wiley’s global network of journal editors the courses are designed to deliver effective learning and measurable results. Its curriculum has been carefully researched to cover learning needs common to researchers across the world.
The platform is free to use for all researchers, faculty, students and other members of affiliated institutions in South Africa, Botswana, or Namibia that are covered by the Wiley-SANLiC agreement. Register now with your institutional email address!

Online and in-person events, plus access to the Wiley Researcher Academy training resource, offers researchers and students at southern African institutions the chance to expand their skills and careers with training activities.
The Wiley-SANLiC Author Engagement Programme provides free access to these resources to members of 27 institutions in South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia. This programme will ensure that more of the high-quality research conducted in these institutions reaches the global research community.

Michael Willis – Researcher Advocate
Michael has worked in publishing for more than 20 years. As Researcher Advocate, he champions the needs and aspirations of editors, reviewers and authors within journal editorial and peer review processes, advising and speaking on research integrity, publishing ethics, diversity, equity and inclusion, and researcher behaviour.
Lorna Stimson – Publishing Director
As a Publishing Director for Transformational Agreements, Lorna promotes open research and excellence in publishing. In her previous role in Wiley’s in-house editorial offices in Germany, as Editor-in-Chief and Publisher for journals at the interface of physical and life science, Lorna was responsible for assessing scientific quality, conducting peer review, journal development, and for publishing workflows and research integrity a larger journal portfolio.
